Mail on Sunday article [22 June 1998]
The Mail on Sunday (21 June, Business page 1) has published an article bluntly entitled CWC hit by phone bill chaos. There are two variations on this article: that printed, and a shorter and slightly different Web version.
Only a couple of points to add:
- Our biggest problem is the legacy billing system [printed] - I'd suggest that the old billing systems worked well; it's the new one that's causing problems!
- Customers who have been undercharged because of the breakdown may escape without penalty [Web] - I've never found anyone who has been undercharged, despite asking around several times. Without exception, all the mistakes I've been told about have been in CWC's favour.
