Calling all pledge signers [5 January 1998]
If you've already signed the pledge, could you tell me how much you spend on CWC (telephone and TV if relevant) per month? The pledge has been altered slightly to allow you to enter the amount, but please don't sign the pledge if you've signed it already.
The motivation for this change is that it's become clear that, quite apart from the bad publicity they're getting, CWC are going to lose a lot of money if pledges are put into action; some people have, unprompted, told me what they spend, and some of the amounts are fantastic - £700 a month is the current record!
Don't worry - your spending will not be associated with your name. I'll be working out averages and drawing histograms when I've got enough information and will not refer to individual amounts. That's my pledge.
