7 April 1998 Dear Mr Wallace, As owner of Cable and Wireless Watch I have started receiving - after a gap of a few months when all was quiet - complaints about people being taken off Videotron phone tariffs, when they were not expecting to be removed, after changing their existing service. There appears to be no consistent approach from CWC to this situation, so it would be a help to all if you could state: · What ex-Videotron customers can change, or add to, or remove from, their existing service and keep their Videotron phone tariffs; · What ex-Videotron customers cannot change, or add to, or remove from, their existing service and keep their Videotron phone tariffs. A related issue, which has come up a few times, is whether ex-Videotron customers can or cannot take their tariffs with them when moving to another house in a (former) ‘Videotron area’. Again there seems to be no consistent approach: I have both outcomes on file. This issue affects me: I would have my number of lines increased from one to three, giving you at least another £20 a month, if I knew where I stood. Yours sincerely, Alastair Scott
